Add Hawaiian Electric as a safe sender to view your ebills
By Tani Loo | Dec. 27, 2021
Hawaiian Electric’s Online Customer Service Center allows customers to request paperless billing because it’s convenient and environmentally friendly. Customers receive a bill notification in their email, and they can decide how to make payments without having to write and mail in a check every month. With many companies sending a barrage of promotional content, a customer’s electric bill can get lost in their folders, and part of my role is to help them find it.
I’m not sure if this has happened to you, but I’ve spent time searching for important emails in my inbox. Instead, I find them in my spam folder along with emails from stores I haven’t visited in years. I don’t check this folder often because I assume that the email provider’s filters are working well, but the reality is that the settings can block Hawaiian Electric emails from reaching your inbox.
I’ve found that adding Hawaiian Electric as a safe sender saves time and effort. Instead of wondering where your bill is or searching through your spam folder every month, you can adjust your filter settings to ensure emails from donotreply@hawaiianelectric.com go to your inbox. That way, you don’t have to worry about whether you missed your bill notification because you know it will be delivered.
Most email providers have a similar filtering process. To create a filter, please follow these steps.
1. Log in to your email account.
2. On the top, there is a search box. Click on the button
to Show search options.
3. In the From field, enter donotreply@hawaiianelectric.com. Click Create Filter.
4. Select Never send it to Spam. Click Create filter.
While no one enjoys paying bills, your email provider’s filtering system shouldn’t add to your frustration. Adding Hawaiian Electric as a safe sender makes it quicker to find and review your bills in your inbox before you make a payment. You can also log in to the Online Customer Service Center to review and download your bills at your convenience. Our hope is that this information makes it easier for you to receive and view your electric bill.
