Add Hawaiian Electric as a trusted site to view your electric bill

Hawaiian Electric puts a lot of effort into making sure that customer’s online data is protected. And sometimes, that means extra steps need to be taken in order to access the Online Customer Service Center. Customers who have an online account can view and pay their bill, start or stop service, and update their information, but it can be frustrating when you can’t log in. When this happens, I’ve worked with customers who see an empty teal box instead of the username and password fields and help them gain access to their online account.
I don’t know if you’ve done this, but all my devices at home, from my laptop to desktop, have been protected by antivirus software and strict security settings. I made sure of it because there are so many tactics being used to gain access to people’s information online. But by taking those precautions, I’ve also had my security settings prevent me from using features on legitimate websites like Hawaiian Electric’s Online Customer Service Center.
Third-party browser extensions or plugins such as Adblock, Bitdefender or Ghostery can prevent the login fields from loading. Some customers prefer to disable the extensions or plugins, but they can also add our site as an exception. By adding https://eservice.hawaiianelectric.com/* as a trusted site, customers can view and log in to their online account.
Sometimes customers are using their company’s work devices, which tend to have stricter security settings. We recommend you access your online account from a different device. For example, customers can download our free HECO mobile application or navigate to our website from a mobile browser.
While it can be frustrating for customers who only want to make a payment or view their bill, these extra steps help avoid potentially dangerous situations. I’d rather check my security settings on my devices and add Hawaiian Electric as a trusted site than worry about my online data.
