Download and use the Hawaiian Electric mobile app

Apps, especially mobile apps, make it easier for us to go about our everyday lives. The convenience and its evolution over the years make it worthy to celebrate National App Day on December 11.
As a web support specialist, I speak with customers who experience issues registering for or logging in to our Online Customer Service Center where they can view and pay their electricity bill. Customers are usually away from their computer when I reach out to them, so when I do connect with them I recommend they download our Hawaiian Electric mobile app on either the Google Play Store for Android devices or the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads.
Once the Hawaiian Electric mobile app is installed, I’ll have customers tap on View Electric Bill button and then assist them with resolving any login issues they may have. After logging in to their online account, I’ll guide them to where they can view their bill and save it as a PDF if they need to. One of the most common questions I get is how to set up Automatic Bill Payment from the online account. I help walk customers through signing up for Automatic Bill Payment and confirm that they set it up correctly to reassure them.
The mobile app provides many features but my favorite feature is the Report an Outage option, which saves customers time and avoids having them search for information on our website. The Outage Map will take the reported outages and display them on a map and provide information regarding a particular outage. I often remind customers that the Report an Outage and Outage Map features need location services enabled to tell the mobile app what county you are located and ensure that the correct island map is displayed.
At a family gathering, my cousin told me that he recently purchased an electric vehicle (EV) and has been using the mobile app more frequently to view our EV Charging Stations map so that determine which EV charging stations are operational across the island. He mentioned how he appreciates the details and information regarding the charger such as the cost to use the charger (at specific times of the day), hours of operation, the charging standard(s) that the charger provides, and available payment options. If he runs into issues with a charger, he can now submit report the problem directly from the mobile app to our EV team.
I strongly suggest downloading and checking out our Hawaiian Electric mobile app, especially for customers looking to improve their experience and change the way their interact with our services. Be sure to have notifications enabled to keep up to date with our latest news releases directly from the mobile app!
