Save time, money with ‘Continuous Service Program’

At Hawaiian Electric, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our customers, whether you’re a large company or a resident. For instance, we recently upgraded to a new third party payment platform that provides lower transaction fees and new bill payment options like PayPal to all our customers.
And then there are services meant to help a more specific group of customers. A good example of this is our Continuous Service Program, which is tailored for property managers and owners.
Normally, when a tenant leaves a rental property, they contact Hawaiian Electric to stop electrical service at that address to get their final bill. The property owner then has to contact us to start electrical service again under their own name so that there’s power until the next tenant arrives. The Continuous Service Program is designed so that electric service will continue at the property without having to contact Hawaiian Electric each time a tenant moves out.
As a property owner myself, I immediately recognized the value of this program when I first heard about it. When a tenant leaves, there’s usually a ton of things that have to be done — property check, cleaning, fixing issues, etc. — before the property can be rented out again. While the services provided by the Continuous Service Program are relatively simple, it means one less thing to worry about in an already stressful situation. And for property managers and owners with more than one property to manage, this could be a big deal.
The enrollment process is simple. Download and fill out the application form on our website, and email it to our Customer Service department using the instructions on the form. Multiple properties can be added to the same form. Another plus: The $20 service establishment fee that’s normally charged each time you start electrical service at a property is also waived if you’re enrolled in the program!
For me, the Continuous Service Program highlights Hawaiian Electric’s work to improve the customer experience at all levels. We understand our customers have different needs — and we’re happy to address them.
